Embracing Creative Boundaries – Pankaj Tripathi’s Revelation
Having been a part of 14 films in the last three years, including notable projects like Mimi and Kaagaz, Tripathi acknowledged the need to recalibrate his professional journey. In an interview with Indian Express, he expressed the realization that “itna acting nahi karna chahiye” (one shouldn’t do so much acting).
Tripathi explained that, like any art form, acting also has its limitations. Recognizing the significance of mental and creative rest, he decided to opt for quality over quantity. Instead of inundating himself with numerous projects, he now aims to focus on three carefully chosen ones. This deliberate choice allows him the necessary space to rejuvenate his creative energies and deliver performances of exceptional quality.
Amar Kaushik’s Hilarious Encounter on the Set of Stree 2
Tripathi shared a humorous incident from the set of Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik. Fresh from portraying former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Main Atal Hoon, Tripathi found himself on the set of Stree 2 the very next day. Amar Kaushik cheekily remarked, “Atal ji lag rahe hai!” (You look like Atal ji).
Realizing the overlap between the two characters, Tripathi humorously recalled his response to Kaushik’s observation. He was granted a day off to unwind and watch Stree, allowing him the much-needed break to transition between roles seamlessly. This incident prompted Tripathi to recognize the importance of creating a gap between projects to fully inhabit and shed the skin of his characters.
The Privilege of Saying ‘No’ – Pankaj Tripathi’s Artistic Liberation
Tripathi candidly acknowledged the transformation in his career and mindset. While he previously took on multiple projects to fulfill responsibilities and financial obligations, he now finds himself in a privileged position to say ‘no’ to work.
